Ms. Robinson-Walker also serves as a member of the Leadership Team and as Senior Consultant and Executive Coach for The Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara. The Hudson Institute is a well established, certified coach training organization for professionals around the world.
Catherine has received recognition as a Master Certified Coach (MCC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This designation is the highest credential awarded by the ICF. It is conferred upon coaches who have met a rigorous set of requirements, including strong recommendations from clients and other professional coaches, contribution to the profession, extensive study and service to clients in a professional coaching capacity for a minimum of 2500 hours.

Catherine is a Certified Executive Coach for the National Center for Healthcare Leadership, a collective of leading healthcare organizations, academic institutions and industry leaders working toward transformational change in the healthcare field.
In addition, Catherine has received extensive training and is certified in these leadership enhancing practices and assessments for teams and individuals.
Prior to launching The Leadership Studio, Catherine served as a senior leader at the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the Western Consortium for Public Health (renamed The Public Health Institute). In the latter organization, she was the chief executive officer of the Network for Healthcare Management and the California Health Collaborative.
While working with the Joint Commission, she was founding Executive Director of the Academy for Healthcare Quality, where she worked with a team to create a not-for-profit (501)c3 organization and a "virtual university" sponsored by the Joint Commission and five leading universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, Emory University, The Ohio State University, the University of California at Los Angeles and Northwestern University.
Earlier, as founding chief executive of the Network for Healthcare Management during the 1980's through mid 1990's, Catherine and her colleagues spawned the development of a one of a kind, large-scale, nationwide university consortium. It's 15 prestigious institutions including the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Washington, Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania, among others.
During this time, she created, led and co-led multidisciplinary teams which garnered major project development contracts from the nation's largest healthcare systems. Together with her colleagues, she created and produced more than 130 major educational ventures lasting from one week to two years. Starting in the mid-1980's, prior to the Internet, these programs included virtual and computer-based learning.
As CEO, Catherine worked in partnership with well-known CEO's, clinical leaders, boards of directors, and more than 40 regional and national organizations devoted to professional excellence in healthcare management. Learn more about these partnerships here.
Catherine has served an advisor to VHA Inc., a 2200 hospital and health system consortium based in Irving, Texas.
Throughout her career, Catherine has worked with many client groups, including business executives, healthcare and other professional leaders, practicing physicians and nurses, physician and nurse executives, healthcare managers, university faculties in business and health care and many professional groups and associations representing these groups.
Her book, published by Jossey-Bass, Inc.: "Women and Leadership in Health Care: The Journey to Authenticity and Power", is a health series best seller. Her recent co-authored leadership course for Nurse Week is also a best seller. Robinson-Walker was named "Woman of the Year" in 1998 by the Northern California Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She was selected as the "2006 Friend of Nursing" by the Association of California Nurse Leaders.

Women in Cable and Telecommunications
A full service coaching program for WICT members throughout the country. (WICT is a 4600 member national organization. This work was conducted on behalf of The Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara.)
Executive Program in Health Administration
First of its kind accredited, non-traditional master's degree in health administration, utilizing multi-campus faculty; multidisciplinary, national and international student population; computer-based dialogue and other distance learning methodologies. This model has been replicated by at least a dozen universities throughout the nation.
Center for Health Management Research/Partnership for Health Management Research
A partnership among 15 universities, twelve national healthcare systems and the federal government. Designated by the National Science Foundation as the Industry/University Cooperative Research Center in Health Management in 1992, it is the only such entity to bear this distinction in the field of health administration.
Physician Leadership Institute
A partnership to develop and offer an in-depth physician leadership training program. One of the earliest of its kind, this was a series of four progressively advanced one week segments delivered free standing, or custom designed for client groups including the physicians of the Los Angeles County Department of Health.
Public Health Leadership Institute
Competitively funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 1991 and 1995, the PHLI is a collaborative venture between the Public Health Institute and the CDC. Its model is a unique, year long executive education program using virtual and distance learning, computer dialogue and adult education for leaders in public health at the national, state and local levels. Its alumni network, the Public Health Leadership Society, consists of an active network of more than 250 senior public health leaders.
Healthier Communities Fellowship
A year long executive education program for healthcare leaders who remain on their jobs while enhancing leadership skills in an intentionally designed learning community. Committed to enriching the health of all communities in the United States, the Healthier Communities Fellowship is an interdisciplinary leadership experience lasting for one year, with optional continuing learning opportunities for all alumni.
Center for Nursing Leadership (Now Co-Sponsored by the American Organization of Nurse Executives)
A vital, intentional and community-directed life long learning experience, focusing on long-term personal, professional and healthcare transformation with nurses in executive practice. A joint program of the American Organization for Nurse Executives, the Hill-Rom Corporation and the Network for Healthcare Management until 1999, when the Center for Nursing Leadership became a 501(c)3 organization. The Center replaced the long-standing "Network Institute for Patient Care Executives", also developed by Robinson-Walker and a national team of nursing experts.
Los Angeles County Department of Health Managed Care Initiative
An 18-month program selected competitively from among 14 national educational and consulting entities to retrain the entire Los Angeles County Health Services clinical, professional and support staff of approximately 20,000 individuals.
